{Woodland Themed} Guest Room

This was one of my favorite rooms of the Dream Street house. We used it primarily as a guest bedroom but occasionally it functioned asĀ a secondary nursery when needed. The whole room was inspired by a roll of wrapping paper (of all things!) that my brother-in-law gave me. It was mint with white birch trees and orange foxes. I loved it and built this design around it.

Two of the walls were painted a light mint color already and two were basket beige (my go-to beige color in that house!). My first project was the tree wall mural. I painted the white birch trees using frog tap and a small roller. It took about four coats of white paint, but it turned out exactly how I wanted! For the orange birds, I made simpleĀ stencils by printing bird silhouettes images and used my xacto-knife. I did four birds (one for each one of my kids). It was such a fun focal point of the room!

The rest of the room slowly started to come together after that. I wanted to keep the colors pretty neutral with a few pops of orange.
